Phil, With my hardware switch off for wireless, "wireless" is disabled by default in network manager (greyed out).
Generally speaking, I upgraded to "OpenOffice.org 3.2.1 OOO320m19 (Build:9505) ooo-build 3.2.1.4, Ubuntu package 1:3.2.1-5ubuntu3~ppa1" and have found it more stable. Only a few crashes per week (of the same nature) rather than daily and frequent.
