I installed Lubuntu earlier today on a VirtualBox VM. I downloaded the Beta .iso last night, so I'm sure it is current. The installation went very smoothly, and after the restart I went and checked for updates (and obviously installed them). At this time I also used a terminal to get the documentation for Perl (in case it has anything that might have gone wrong; that at least still works fine). After it was done, a restart was required; I did so, and afterwards the entire task bar, start menu, everything at the bottom of the screen was gone. There was a grey bar at the top. I was able to circumvent the need for a launcher by creating a folder on the desktop and going to a different directory to launch applications, and everything seems fine so far (browser, terminal, everything works). However, applications will randomly minimize without any input on my behalf; so far chromium, lxterminal and pcmanfm have all done so, and I cannot unminimize them. I have 2 included screenshots below. http://i928.photobucket.com/albums/ad121/ace_cipher/Lubuntu_error_1.png http://i928.photobucket.com/albums/ad121/ace_cipher/Lubuntu_error_2.png ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10 Package: lxpanel 0.5.6-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.35-20.29-generic 2.6.35.4 Uname: Linux 2.6.35-20-generic i686 Architecture: i386 Date: Tue Sep 7 16:58:38 2010 InstallationMedia: Lubuntu 10.10 "Maverick Meerkat" - Alpha i386 (20100806) ProcEnviron: PATH=(custom, no user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: lxpanel ** Affects: lxpanel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 maverick -- The entire bottom pannel is missing.
