Binary package hint: lxpanel

I installed Lubuntu earlier today on a VirtualBox VM. I downloaded the
Beta .iso last night, so I'm sure it is current. The installation went
very smoothly, and after the restart I went and checked for updates (and
obviously installed them). At this time I also used a terminal to get
the documentation for Perl (in case it has anything that might have gone
wrong; that at least still works fine). After it was done, a restart was
required; I did so, and afterwards the entire task bar, start menu,
everything at the bottom of the screen was gone. There was a grey bar at
the top. I was able to circumvent the need for a launcher by creating a
folder on the desktop and going to a different directory to launch
applications, and everything seems fine so far (browser, terminal,
everything works). However, applications will randomly minimize without
any input on my behalf; so far chromium, lxterminal and pcmanfm have all
done so, and I cannot unminimize them.

I have 2 included screenshots below.
