Przemek, thanks for taking the time to report this bug and help us make
ubuntu better.
I am not entirely sure what gave you the impression that mysql in Ubuntu
is using libedit...
On the latest version in Maverick:
$ mysql --version
mysql Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.1.49, for debian-linux-gnu (x86_64) using readline
6.1
On lucid:
$ mysql --version
mysql Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.1.41, for debian-linux-gnu (i486) using readline 6.1
I just tried exactly what you suggest doesn't work on lucid and
maverick... I ran 'show slave status;' then 'show processlist;' three
times, then up arrow twice took me to 'show slave status'.
I'm closing this as invalid. If I have misunderstood your request,
please feel free to re-open this by setting the status back to 'New' and
posting a clarification.
** Changed in: mysql-5.1 (Ubuntu)
Status: New => Invalid
