Bummer, the status on this was changed from confirmed to incomplete. Since the OP has not replied, I'll try to supply the info this weekend if I get some free time. I have a feeling it will be the same that SolidSlash supplied in the other bug.
This bug is a show stopper for a huge number of users I reckon, as I know of a few people who experience the same thing with excessive hear and/or clicking like crazy. It is not limited to Ubuntu. Happens with several other distros too apparently. The worst thing about it, is that i forces me to use Windows on my laptop... Simply can't use Ubuntu, the laptop becomes hot right in the spot over the hard drive.
