Can you please exactly list your harddisks and your removable devices as
dvd/cd-r(w) or floppy and where they get mapped to?

/dev/hd* is afaik usually for the "old" ata/atapi devices, while
/dev/sd* is used for the usb/firewire/s-ata devices.

Your /dev/hda is in the group "floppy" which usually indicates that this
is a floppy device, so no harddisk.

I doubt that your cd-rw drive is s-ata/usb/firewire, which means it's
correct at /dev/hd*.
