Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kdelibs4c2a
I have been using k3b for about a month with no problems under Gnome in Dapper which is completely up-to-date with the latest kernel and updates to packages. I was using it yesterday (30/3/07) and had no problem launching it from the Gnome Applications menu and burning a DVD. During they day, my PC downloaded the latest update [USN 447-1] which installed successfully. On re-boot of my PC this morning (I am assuming that the update took effect with the reboot), k3b would not start. It would appear that k3b is launching but instead nothing would appear on-screen. On checking the System monitor, k3b appears in "Uninterruptible" state and can not be stopped or killed. I tried running a KDE session to try and launch k3b. Result was the same. When I had first installed k3b about two months ago, I had experienced the exact same problem and had reported it as a bug and on the forums (http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=350000). There must have been an update I installed subsequently that fixed this problem and I suddenly found I could run k3b again. Now I find I am in the same situation as before. ** Affects: kdelibs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- k3b freezes in uninterruptible state after latest KDE security update [USN 447-1] https://launchpad.net/bugs/99381 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
