Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: usplash

I haven't had a splash screen while booting, in quite some time. I'm
not exactly sure when this began. It may have been when I upgraded from
Dapper to Edgy. I am running Feisty now, I upgraded to this (using
update-manager -c -d) a couple of days ago, and still no boot splash.
