Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: update-manager
I launched 'update-manager -d' using Alt+F2 (I forgot to use gksudo,
maybe it got the rights using still active sudo session). All went fine,
but after modifying repositories, I got an error dialog telling that
unresolvable issues were encountered, and that I should look into
/var/log/dist-upgrade. Maybe this line is relevant : (see attached for
the complete files)
>From /var/log/dist-upgrade/apt.log:
Starting

WARNING: Failed to read mirror file
Investigating libvolume-id0
And the end of the file list many openoffice l10n packages I don't use
that have broken deps. Only en-us, en-gb, en-za and fr were installed
before the upgrade.
The second issue is that now I cant run 'update-manager' (although 'apt-
get install -f' has no problem, synaptic neither): it stops, telling to
the console (there should at least be a dialog box for this!)
(with root, to avoid sudo matters)# update-manager

Just my two cents, hope I can help.
I'm still trying to workaround this using 'geek' ways, I'll report what I can
get.
