What is your guest and host OS?
Assuming you live in the US, please do a www.broadband.gov speedtest on
host and guest, with computer ethernet direct to your modem (no 3rd
party routers, no wifi) and post screenshot of results.
As well, Ubuntu & virtualbox-ose have had numerous updates. Please
update and repost detailed error report.
