Lenovos are a bit special, since some of them have the media keys on a separate input device. Can you please copy this file to /lib/udev/rules.d/, reboot, and check if they keys work now? I assigned them to KEY_MEDIA and KEY_SOUND, which are both recognized by X.org (so you can use them in both Ubuntu and KDE), but I'm not sure whether they'll do anything out of the box. But with this you should at least be able to assign them to anything in they keyboard shortcut preferences. Thanks!
