That version of Ubuntu is over a year and a half old, and unfortunately
the log files provided are not enough alone to deduce what is breaking.
I do however suspect that the general failure to install grub on your SD
card has since been fixed in a newer version of Ubuntu. Please try
again with Ubuntu 10.04.1 ( http://releases.ubuntu.com/10.04.1/ ), and
feel free to reopen this bug if the issue persists.
