I have the same problem. I found a guide in Spanish and am trying to find whether it might be the soultion. Diego, it's available at this website: http://www.dondado.es/2009/09/audio-por-hdmi-en-htpc-linux/
I suspect there's something wrong with the alsa drivers anyway, since when I manage to get sound, the nVidia HDMI device at the System -> Preferences -> Sound -> Hardware tab seems to appear and disappear at random. When it has happened to work, after some tampering with /etc/asound.conf, a random frequency beep appears just after playing a sound. And it can't be switched off via software, I have to mute my TV set. I hope to get some more information about this bug. Thanks in advance. -- no sound MCP73 hdmi port ubuntu 10.04 lucid https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/635391 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
