Could you please test your sound card using either an Ubuntu Lucid
10.04.1 live CD, or the Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick beta live CD? If either of
these CDs provide you with working sound, I suggest you upgrade your
system. If your sound card only works with Maverick 10.10 beta, but you
don't yet feel like upgrading to a beta release, then I suggest you
upgrade your system to 10.04.1, and update your alsa driveras outlined
here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/InstallingLinuxAlsaDriverModules.
Please report back with your findings.
