I just tried to install Linux on my laptop. a Sarger 5760. After
installing the CD-ROM drive disappeared in both Linux and WINDOWS. I did
do a kernel update with the update all options right away. fresh off the
6.06 LTR.. I knew it had to be something with grub but didn't know how
to fix. The SATA is emulated on my drive as IDE for compatablility with
windows. Not sure if thats has anything to do with it but I figured I
would provide extra information on the setup.

I had to boot into windows recovery console and do a FIXMBR and windows
now shows my DVD-RW drive. But now I'm not able to go into linux..
looking for a real fix. I don't want to install the latest beta only to
have the issue show up again.
