** Attachment added: "aplay"
   http://librarian.launchpad.net/7096953/aplay

** Description changed:

  *Steps to reproduce
  1. Install "Desktop" version of Ubuntu (Gnome) Edgy 6.10.
  2. Preform after-install updates using the built-in Gnome update notification.
  3. Boot into the 2.6.17-11 kernel after the updates update from 2.6.17-10.
  4. Audio no longer works.

  *Notes
  1. I made no advanced changes other than running the initial updates.
  2. I'm using a Creative Labs Live 24-bit internal PCI soundcard. Another
unused soundcard is onboard, but I do not have the information on it other than
it's a SoundMAX brand and my motherboard is an ASUS A7V600.
  3. Choosing the old 2.6.17-10 selection in the Grub boot menu results in the
sound working like normal.
