have the bcm4318 myself. this is a problem with the current kernel
driver, it apparently has "major power issues". for this particular
hardware you will need to use ndiswrapper for the moment.

workaround:

add "blacklist bcm43xx" to /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist
add "alias eth1 ndiswapper" and "alias wlan0 ndiswapper" to 
/etc/modprobe.d/ndiswrapper

and ndiswrapper will need to be configured obviously.
