I have something else for you to try. Please open /etc/modprobe.d/alsa- base.conf in an editor using sudo, and add the following line at the bottom of the file:
options snd-hda-intel model=thinkpad If unsre as to how to open a file in an editor as root, you could use the following example: "sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf" Once you have added the above line to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf, please reboot your system, and check to see whether your problem is resolved.
