Public bug reported:
When i plug my palm via USB to my PC, my kubuntu randomly freeze, i have no
choice but to reboot.
This is a kernel level freeze, nothing is responding (ssh, ping, keystrokes if
i am in text mode). There is no error stated in kern.log
According to kern.log, the Visor module see my palm and then connect and
disconnect several times (but cable was not removed). If my palm is
currently running showing the "sync" window, when i plug the cable to
pc, am 100% sure to get a disconnect. I have mitigated success syncing,
however, if i follow the following procedure
Step to somehow work around:
1) have palm zire 72 in main menu
2) start the kpilot application
3) plug the palm to usb, seems the presence of kpilot prevents the crash
4) run a hot sync
5) cancel hot sync from pda, it has anyway already failed
6) the hot sync fails, go in kpilot configuration, change nothing, it will just
reset it's status to 0%
7) click again on hot sync in pda, the hotsync will be a success after one or 2
minutes running, depending on size of datas and speed of connection
At this point i have synced my pda with my kde-pim. However
8) Quit the sync application inside pda
9) System is frozen but synced.
As i said, this is mitigated success, i can sync my data, but at the
price of a freeze. And am not 100% sure it works all the time.
Steps that always reproduce
1) start kubuntu in safe mode, i will get a root prompt in text mode
2) put the pda in the sync application
3) plug the pda via usb to computer
4) system will freeze within the next 5 seconds, even keyboard won't work
anymore...

a joke)
