I am joining my name to the list of affected users. I will just describe
the symptoms.
It can be shortly after turning on the PC or hours later. It happened
once or twice after suspending the computer. On several occasions when I
was using Firefox on Youtube it also happened.
The computer freezes. The keyboard and mouse freeze. I can't even toggle
the caps lock. So there is no possibility to do the Alt-SysReq.....
commands or to press F1 for another terminal. I resort to hard reboot.
I did think it was a problem with my NVIDIA graphics card originally but
it evidently isn't since i've installed the correct drivers.
I never had this problem with previous ubuntu releases.
