I realized that I made changes in how plymouth shows the splash screen as these steps:
sudo apt-get install v86d sudo gedit /etc/default/grub And replace the line 9: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash" to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash nomodeset video=uvesafb:mode_option=1280×768-24,mtrr=3,scroll=ywrap" And replace line 18 #GRUB_GFXMODE=640×480 to GRUB_GFXMODE=1024x768 I checked if the "" were bad as bug 590524, and then there were no bad "" as the moron that wrote that web page: http://lavidalinux.com.ar/2010/05/como-arreglar-plymouth-en-ubuntu-10-04.html the only thing that were bad was this: Line 11 in /etc/default/grub: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=" vga=786" corrected this as GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="vga=786" Then the things didn't went better, still I have the annoying: Configurando grub-pc (1.98-1ubuntu7) ... dpkg: error al procesar grub-pc (--configure): el subproceso script post-installation instalado devolvió el código de salida de error 128 Se encontraron errores al procesar: grub-pc every time I make an update and an upgrade or I use synaptic. -- package grub-pc 1.98-1ubuntu7 failed to install/upgrade: el subproceso script post-installation instalado devolvió el código de salida de error 128 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/608947 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
