Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ubiquity

This is a list of the three problems I encountered in Ubiquity while
installing Ubuntu Feisty Herd 5 from the live CD on a Dell Inspiron. I
know that these should be filed as seperate bug reports, and I will do
so in the near future.

1) progress bar quickly proceeds, then stalls at 46% for just over two minutes
while it prepares the partitioner, before letting me set up the partitions. It
then quickly proceeds to the end. The bug is easily reproducable: it has
occured consistently for four installs in a row now. I have the following
partitions listed, in case it is somehow relevant:
hda1 ext3 /media/hda1
hda3 ext3 /
hda4 ext3 /home
free space
hda2 swap

2) if the relevant partition is not mounted (eg for editing it in
gparted), then it doesn't pull in information from my xubuntu install on
hda1. Expected behaviour would be to temporarily mount the partition in
order to check for presence of accounts to be imported.

3) if i don't ask to have the root and home partitions reformatted, the
installer crashes at the begining of the actual install

Logs will be attached below.

** Affects: ubiquity (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Needs Info
