Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.20
The ICH7 sound card on this Sony VAIO VGN-FE41E notebook works fine, until it
is suspended to RAM and resumed again. When a sound is played, it seems to
take about half a second of sound and repeats it lots of times. Then it takes
the next half a second and does it again, etc. until the sound is finished.
Unloading/reloading the snd-hda-intel module makes the soundcard work again
correctly.
Inspired by bug #55071, I looked at the contents of /proc/asound/card0/codec#0
and found these differences between its contents when working correctly, and
after a module reload. There was no difference between a fresh boot and a
module reload after suspend:
