Just found that the bug also occurs when setting a manual DNS (such as
google, or open DNS)

Followed these steps:

Inside the editing window that opens click on the ‘IPv4 Settings’ tab
Under ‘IPv4 Settings’, change the ‘Method’ to ‘Automatic (DHCP) addresses only’
Put these name server addresses as your ‘DNS Servers’:
208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.220

Once I hit apply, the wireless disconnected and did not reconnect. Every time I
attempted to reconnect it prompted for a password, regardless of if I entered
it or not, it created a new entry in NM, totally disregarding the edited entry.
It will create multiple entries as long as you keep retrying. Restarting does
not resolve.

FYI- this is on a fresh install and fully updated 10.04
