First, I suggest you make sure your system is completely up to date. It
appears that you are still running a kernel from lucid. The latest
maverick kernel version is 2.6.35-21-generic. Make sure you have the
linux-generic and linux-headers-generic packages installed and up to
date.
Unfortunately Linux support for the X-Fi series of hardware is not very
good at the moment, so once you are running an up to date kernel, I can
instruct you on how to update your alsa drivers to the latest code, so
that the chances of your X-Fi card working are somewhat increased.
