(3) When using dput to upload a package to a LaunchPad PPA, it would be
helpful if the dput command could check the series (Lucid, Karmic,
Hardy, etc) and avoid wasting time and bandwidth on a package that will
be rejected immediately. There may be other checks that could be moved
forward to this point in the process.
(4) at present, you eventually get an email message saying the upload
was rejected.
