That was a rather unfortunate bug in the beta installer that I'm profusely sorry for. It does put a giant warning page in your face before you hit partitioning though.
At any rate, a number of bugs related to this behavior have since been fixed. Could you please try again with the absolute latest daily-live CD ( http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live ) and try again? Let us know via this bug report if you can or cannot reproduce the problem (and attach logs if it's the former).
