** Description changed: The touchpad is not working at all on my new Sony Vaio VPCF12S1E laptop. I have tested this with live CD for 10.04 LTS (Lucid Lynx) and a 10.10 beta release CD. I downloaded both CD's yesterday. According to windows the touchpad has an ALPS touchpad. This guy seems to have a similar problem with this laptop and fedora 13: http://fedoraforum.org/forum/showthread.php?t=249230 I'd be happy to give any additional information and do testing for you. How do I upload apport-files? Which terminal commands should I run to give you additional info? + --- + AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.23. + Architecture: amd64 + ArecordDevices: + **** List of CAPTURE Hardware Devices **** + card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 0: ALC275 Analog [ALC275 Analog] + Subdevices: 1/1 + Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 + AudioDevicesInUse: + Cannot stat file /proc/4809/fd/37: Stale NFS file handle + USER PID ACCESS COMMAND + /dev/snd/controlC0: ubuntu 3274 F.... pulseaudio + CRDA: Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory + Card0.Amixer.info: + Card hw:0 'Intel'/'HDA Intel at 0xe8e00000 irq 53' + Mixer name : 'Realtek ALC275' + Components : 'HDA:10ec0275,104d3f00,00100005' + Controls : 16 + Simple ctrls : 9 + Card1.Amixer.info: + Card hw:1 'NVidia'/'HDA NVidia at 0xe3080000 irq 16' + Mixer name : 'Nvidia GT220 HDMI' + Components : 'HDA:10de000a,104d3f00,00100100' + Controls : 16 + Simple ctrls : 4 + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10 + Frequency: Once a day. + LiveMediaBuild: Ubuntu 10.10 "Maverick Meerkat" - Beta amd64 (20100901.1) + MachineType: Sony Corporation VPCF12S1E + Package: linux (not installed) + ProcCmdLine: file=/cdrom/preseed/hostname.seed boot=casper initrd=/casper/initrd.lz quiet splash -- maybe-ubiquity + ProcEnviron: + LANG=en_US.UTF-8 + SHELL=/bin/bash + ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.35-19.28-generic 2.6.35.3 + Regression: No + RelatedPackageVersions: linux-firmware 1.38 + Reproducible: No + Tags: maverick kernel-uncat needs-upstream-testing + Uname: Linux 2.6.35-19-generic x86_64 + UserGroups: adm admin cdrom dialout lpadmin plugdev sambashare + dmi.bios.date: 05/31/2010 + dmi.bios.vendor: American Megatrends Inc. + dmi.bios.version: R1110Y6 + dmi.board.asset.tag: N/A + dmi.board.name: VAIO + dmi.board.vendor: Sony Corporation + dmi.board.version: N/A + dmi.chassis.asset.tag: N/A + dmi.chassis.type: 10 + dmi.chassis.vendor: Sony Corporation + dmi.chassis.version: N/A + dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnAmericanMegatrendsInc.:bvrR1110Y6:bd05/31/2010:svnSonyCorporation:pnVPCF12S1E:pvrC605P9CP:rvnSonyCorporation:rnVAIO:rvrN/A:cvnSonyCorporation:ct10:cvrN/A: + dmi.product.name: VPCF12S1E + dmi.product.version: C605P9CP + dmi.sys.vendor: Sony Corporation ** Attachment added: "AcpiTables.txt" https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/bugs/636842/+attachment/1617136/+files/AcpiTables.txt -- Touchpad not found on Sony Vaio VPCF12S1E https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/636842 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
