Hello,
I have the same issue in ubuntu 10.4 : I get "Name 'ABCD' already in use by
another volume" when y create a new volume with virt-manager (in ssh).
It was ok in default pool (/var/lib/libvirt/images) but not in my new pool
(/mydirectory/). So I campared both storage pool to find differences. I have a
"/" after the path of my own pool but not in the default pool directory. So I
clear my storage pool and create it again without the "/" a the end....
"/myDirectory/" => "/myDirectory"
And now y can create new volume without any bug.

Maybe you have this bug because you have "/" at the end of the path of
your storage pool  ???
