Public bug reported:
Release: KUbuntu 10.04
Package: not sure (the crash stack backtrace ends in libdbus-1-3
1.2.16-2ubuntu4, but basic reasons may be elsewhere)
Expect to happen: krunner should never crash!
What happens instead:
krunner crashes sporadically, sometimes during typing a command, sometimes
right after launching an application, sometimes up to ~10 seconds after it. The
application that I am trying to start may or may not be launched (it's random).
Actually, I think there are may be several separate bugs, because there are no
clear conditions when the crash happens, and sometimes the stack backtraces
look different. The stack backtrace that I attach here corresponds to the
mostly freqent and annoying type of the crashes. It ends in the libdbus
library, but I suspect the original reason maybe located elsewhere. I suppose
that libdbus is some common protocol, but in my system only krunner suffers
from these crashes.
I found some similar bug reports in launchpad, but they are marked as
"Invalid" (due to lack of the information) or "Fix released" for some
older KDE version than I have (I use KDE 4.4.2). Therefore, I suppose
this is a new bug. It started to happen in Lycid Lynx, there were no any
similar crashes in krunner in previous releases.
