I've unduplicated this after reading the bug you mentioned.  I think
they are separate issues.  The bug you reference is related to not being
able to boot the later maverick kernels after UPDATING a Lucid install
to Maverick.  In my case, I can not even boot the Netbook ISO image to
do the initial install.

My problem is the ISO itself...  The ISO as of 20 Sept did not even
completely display the SYSLINUX line prior to just hanging up.  I just
synced the image as of 21 Sept (22 Sept in Taipei where I'm sitting
right now) and that image at least displays the full SYSLINUX header,
but then says "vesamenu.c32: not a COM32R image"

SO in essence, I can't even get far enough in to actually experience the
failure in the bug you mentioned.
