This doesn't seem to have been fixed here.
I can reproduce exactly the same behaviour. I did notice that the unity-
place-applications template got a new translatable string
("Applications"), whereas the unity-place-files template did not get any
new translatable strings.
But even after translating "Applications" and installing the
translations locally, that did not seem to make any change.
