update again:
After grub got fixed properly last week (thanx guys!) I just installed the
latest mainline kernel and headers
(linux-image-2.6.36-999-generic_2.6.36-999.201009240945_i386). Installed and
rebooted no problems, but still see udev complaining about device dm-3,4, or 6
as not being available. It's not the same device every time, it changes.
Also every once in a while startup get stopped with a warning that serious
errors are detected on my filesystems (ignore, skip mounting or repair
manually) so I suspect something goes wrong at shutdowns. But I'm not at all
sure what it is or what I should do about it. Might very well be another bug
and not related to this one.

Let me know what you need me to check next.

cheers
Tom
