This could be a duplicate of bug #214168.
Upgrading to Ubuntu 10.10 (which include intel 2.12.0) should fix this
issue.

Intel i810e graphics; display is distorted since upgrade to 9.04. No
workarounds have solved it yet. Colors are distorted.
