Public bug reported:
In the beta livecd, I did "apt-get install vnc4server".
This worked in previous releases.
Although the install worked and the vncserver started, the first problem was
that attempting to
type in the terminal window made it disappear!
I started an emacs on that screen, and the same thing happened.
Looking at the processes, I noticed x-window-manager was running, so I kill it,
installed
open-motif-clients and started mwm instead.
All the windows came back (now decorated Motif-style), so they were
still there.
I remember using that emacs for a little while without any problems.
Later I started up another emacs, and it dumped core, saying
Gdk-ERROR **: Failed to get keymap
When I tried to report that as a bug using the bug-reporter, the firefox that
came up
on that screen had strange colors which made the page unreadable, i.e. the
background
was a deep bloodred.
None of these problems existed in older livecds.
