Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: apport

More than 90% of the time when I encounter a beta Meerkat bug, I'm told I don't
have
up-to-date packages and therefore cannot report the bug. The dialog lists the
packages,
but I haven't found a way to copy and paste the list elsewhere to be able to
upgrade the
packages except tediously by hand. Generally it takes more than one try.
Apport also
apparently decides to ignore crashes of applications after the first two, so
that causing
the crash again after a few tries at getting updated packages no longer
automatically
generates the popup crash notification. Finally, sometimes it is just not
feasible (due to
memory constraints) to update all the packages if I'm running from a livecd.

My machines have systems installed on them which need to work, so I do all of
my newer-release
testing via livecd.

This makes reporting bugs MUCH more frustrating and time-consuming.
