My temporary workaround is to install the Gnome integration instead--it just looks and works so much better, especially if you use a unified system theme such as QtCurve. To do this, remove openoffice.org-kde and install openoffice.org-gnome instead. OpenOffice will now no longer have file dialog hangs or sluggish scrolling in Calc, but you will only have the default OOo file picker by default. To get the Gnome file picker after installing the Gnome integration, edit /usr/lib/openoffice/program/soffice and insert the following near the top, after the comments: export OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=gnome
I'm not sure, but that last step may need to be repeated after a future OpenOffice.org upgrade. -- OO.org writer freezes in save dialog (KDE) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/590406 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
