** Description changed: I had 10.04 installed and my webcam would not be recognized. I think a kernel update came and the camera worked. I upgraded to 10.10 and everything works fine except the camera again. The camera shows up in windows just not Ubuntu. I have a HP tx2510us . I tried doing a acpi=off at start up and it disabled my wireless card. here is a error in the dmesg i get [ 0.963721] ehci_hcd: USB 2.0 'Enhanced' Host Controller (EHCI) Driver [ 0.963811] ehci_hcd 0000:00:12.2: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 1 [ 0.963944] ehci_hcd 0000:00:12.2: applying AMD SB600/SB700 USB freeze workaround [ 0.981392] ehci_hcd 0000:00:12.2: USB 2.0 started, EHCI 1.00 [ 0.981666] hub 1-0:1.0: USB hub found [ 0.982136] ehci_hcd 0000:00:13.2: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 2 [ 0.982254] ehci_hcd 0000:00:13.2: applying AMD SB600/SB700 USB freeze workaround [ 1.001308] ehci_hcd 0000:00:13.2: USB 2.0 started, EHCI 1.00 [ 1.001517] hub 2-0:1.0: USB hub found [ 1.001755] ohci_hcd: USB 1.1 'Open' Host Controller (OHCI) Driver [ 1.001962] ohci_hcd 0000:00:12.0: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 3 [ 1.069526] hub 3-0:1.0: USB hub found [ 1.069859] ohci_hcd 0000:00:12.1: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 4 [ 1.129522] hub 4-0:1.0: USB hub found [ 1.129860] ohci_hcd 0000:00:13.0: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 5 [ 1.189545] hub 5-0:1.0: USB hub found [ 1.189874] ohci_hcd 0000:00:13.1: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 6 [ 1.249621] hub 6-0:1.0: USB hub found [ 1.249952] ohci_hcd 0000:00:14.5: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 7 [ 1.301319] usb 1-4: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 2 [ 1.309569] hub 7-0:1.0: USB hub found [ 1.309791] uhci_hcd: USB Universal Host Controller Interface driver [ 1.541009] Initializing USB Mass Storage driver...
