I've just ran into this issue this morning. In my case, the icon appears
twice, one next to the sound icon, the other next to the wireless icon.
The one next to the sound icon I could get rid of, using the method
mentioned above, but I just can't get rid of the other one. I have no
Virtual Assistance whatsoever checked in my startup programs. Still
looking for a misfortunate key combination.
