I have a different notebook (ASUS G51J) with the same video card: nVidia GeForce GTS 360M. I have also tried the Ubuntu 10.10 beta live CD with the same result. I guess it shows some memory junk.
It looks me as if the nVidia driver used by the live CD and by default by the installed system didn't like the 360M. However if you add the xforcevesa kernel parameter before you start to install or try the system it will not crash. On the first boot choose the Recovery mode option in Grub and then select Failsafe X and start with installing the proprietary nVidia driver. Anyway it would be nice if the Installer just worked fine. It is probably a bug in the nouveau driver. -- ubuntu 10.10 beta live CD has major graphical glitches on ASUS G60JX https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/633277 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
