I'm also having this exact issue, I had it back in beta of 10.04 so I reverted to 9.10, and how i'm having it again. It seems to be affected by temperature, if I have my laptop on my bed or lap it seems to drop faster. If on the desk it has been known to last over night. Here is a dmesg I took just after the wifi dropped earlier: http://pastie.org/1188738
As the author stated, it's impossible to maintain productivity with such an unreliable connection and is a real inconvenience, but I really like the native iPhone support in 10.04 so would like to try get it fixed.
