Look at /usr/share/doc/vlc/NEWS.Debian.gz: Teletext decoding is now done
through zvbi. It requires installing an extra packages: vlc-plugin-zvbi.
telx was not dropped by accident, but with intent: telx is incompatible
with zvbi.
