At end of 10.04.1 upgrade (from Updater), user is asked about using (or
not) a new Grub config file. I chose yes and on restart received error:
the symbol 'grub_puts_' not found. Command = "grub rescue>". All
attempts to ls to hdx,x failed > "error: unknown filesystem"

I cannot remember where I saw a comment about making this error - in the
10.04 ??? intro? - but I didn't see it until it was too late.

Also, it is simply too difficult - even for a four version 'expert' in
Ubuntu to troubleshoot with two different methods of identifying
partitions (sd- or hd- without some indication of what's on the
partitions.

No life-and-death, but it would certainly help if the Grubs had
mentioned the downsides of saying yes - especially since one cannot go
back at that point.

And, as a relative newbie, I apologize for doing this incorrectly. It
took me 25 years to get biology and chemistry in some order.
