Public bug reported: I believe this is highly related to these bugs:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/601986 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/508516 The problem has worsened in Maverick beta. I used to eventually (after 7 or 8 minutes as described in the bugs above) be able to boot my system without using the "nohz=off highres=off" kernel command-line arguments. The system will never boot without these parameters now. I wanted to post my apport-info to bug #601986, but apport encouraged me to file a new bug. This is it. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help get this resolved.
