Binary package hint: ubiquity

When I launch Live Ubuntu (try without installing on your computer) from a
memory stick,
fdisk -l shows correctly all available disks:
sda - memory stick
sdb - built-in memory module
sdc - ExpressCard/34 64GB SSD (Verbatim)
My intention is to use the whole SSD for Linux, sda contains Live Ubuntu 64,
created with unetbootin
on an up-to-date U10.04 (64).
When I click on the "Install Ubuntu" icon (or launch it as a sudo from the
commant line),
it hangs indefinitely after "set your time zone"
When I choose the option "install" during the boot, it hangs showing
"Preparing to install Ubuntu".
fdisk -l does not see the sdc SSD, only sda and sdb above.
I am attaching /var/log/syslog
This report is filed from another computer (so ignore the automatically
collected stuff).
Besides, the ubuntu-bug utility is very buggy itself:
1) you need to be a superuser to file a bug, otherwise it crashes with access
complaints
2) it needs a browser, so I cannot report this bug from the failed computer (it
does not have
the browser installed yet)
