Hi David, Following up on your identification of "acore", I found this link: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=205449.
After following through the steps provided, I wound up having to compile my Alsa driver. And now, IT WORKS!! And better than before! No more problems playing audio while watching internet clip. So I'm very happy. Thank you so much for all your help! Not sure if it's a problem or not, but now when I open a Terminal and enter "aplay -l" I receive this output: **** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices **** ALSA lib conf.c:1179:(parse_def) pulse is not a compound ALSA lib conf.c:1589:(snd_config_load1) _toplevel_:13:11:Invalid argument ALSA lib conf.c:2850:(snd_config_hook_load) /usr/share/alsa/pulse-alsa.conf may be old or corrupted: consider to remove or fix it ALSA lib conf.c:2714:(snd_config_hooks_call) function 0ܪ ication.name returned error: Invalid argument ALSA lib control.c:909:(snd_ctl_open_noupdate) Invalid CTL hw:0 aplay: device_list:232: control open (0): Invalid argument Seems odd. But things work. So sort of confused, but also happy. -- sound card not recognized https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/648400 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
