BTW, xingmux only adds a header, it doesn't touch or affect the audio in any way: http://www.gstreamer.net/data/doc/gstreamer/head/gst-plugins-ugly-plugins/html/gst-plugins-ugly-plugins-xingmux.html It would be clearer and technically more accurate to refer to the different profiles as "lame" and "lamemp3enc" (if that's what you mean). Using ambiguous language is asking for being misinterpreted.
