I have a similar issue with a Targus PAWM004 Wireless Mouse, the thing is that the mouse seems to work (i can click, use the mouse wheel, use both clicks) but the mouse pointer on the screen don't move, i execute this on a terminal:
cat /dev/input/mouse2 and when i move the mouse some text appears on the terminal, which means that the device is "talking" but there is no movement on the screen.
