If already known or not, maybe it is because of the exit-button in the tabbar.
There isn't an exit-button, if you have only one tab. But if you open another tab, the exit-buttons appears and the height increases by one pixel. Until the eighth tab every tabs has an exit-button. Then, if you add another tab (the ninth) the exit-button disappears from the inactive tabs and the height regains it's normal size. The increasing of the tabbar by one pixel is so to say due the exit- button in the inactive tabs.
