I have fixed this error now by uninstalling any program i nolonger use and
running System>Admin> Computer Janitor
I stuck with the default selection returning my system back to defaults (and
removing / damaging some of my programs eg boxee / Pidgin plugins / wine and a
few others very minor )
I then reinstalled any programs i use on the regular and my problem has
gone away it appears it was caused by old programs that had installed
old libs and removing them caused the system to work correctly again
