this wasn't a problem in early releases of Ubuntu 10.10 kernel. Now that
we are in RC, it is back and it is a bad thing to have as it kills
battery life.  I will get on IRC and see if i can get some traction on
this.

cat /proc/mount yields a mount commit=60 (that is too fast). Any how,
iotop clearly shows jbd2 constantly flushing preventing the hard drive
from spinning down.

this is a real issue that we should fix for 10.10
